1.
Almost Right 02:23
You work so hard to make it sound right But you don't even hear it anymore And it just doesn't feel like it did before When it was almost right
2.
Steeping 02:47
All this waiting's got me Steeping like a cup of tea So my hope is that the longer it takes The stronger that I'll be Because when I finally reach your mouth I want to wake you warmly And fill you with energy So 'til then tap answer to pull me up And hang up to drop me back in
3.
With a shaved head I waited for you to call Eating pizza at Chris-Town mall All I wanted to know was that you knew you were wrong All I wanted to do was put it in a song Rock and roll wont make it all ok But it used to seem that way And with cups and wrappers at my right I drove my car all through the night Feeling so goddamned justified To feel so unsatisfied Rock and roll will someday go away But it never used to seem that way
4.
Hot Plate 02:58
You're a hot plate I can't have in my room A fire might start while I'm away You're a small stone in my hoodie pocket A token to take out when the weather gets rough And it's not fair to you that I remember everything And it's not fair to me that you forgot You're a stretch mark hidden under my clothes A growing pain that wont go away You're cold hands on a fever You're blood on the bottle You're two dogs in the desert You're fine, you're fine You're a lot to handle
5.
As a kid I felt nervous around adults And now I'm an adult and I feel nervous around my friends I don't know how to answer your question And I question it's intention What do you really want me to say? I know you don't think I'm ok
6.
Walky Talky 02:11
7.
The coffee in me feels like nitroglycerine While I crank up the songs that shake me to my core I am pulled, I am pulling, I am splitting at the seams Sealing up the windows and the doors Any victory in a storm is something to hold on to Anyway to keep warm Keep the roads open for you
8.
Stunner 02:53
It's like you have theme music That plays when you enter the room And I try to not seem stunned But I'm not fooling anyone I'm frozen right where I stand And this is not where I belong Mine is the love of a fan for your themesong
9.
I want to wake the way you do Step into the morning cool and blue I want you to feel like you could rely on my if you need to You've watched me become a scarecrow And you've watched me become a crow And we grow the most while we're sleeping Even if we sleep alone
10.
I'm sorry babe I know you're doing your part But I can't let anyone into this hoarder house of a heart I look at people through a peep hole This was over before it could start
